FS#279 - Graphics: graphic may not show in control

If the graphic created in Graphics Editor is too far down in the GE design area, and/or is to far the right, it may not be seen in the design area.

There are 3 possible solutions that I can think of:

  • Have Koda reposition the graphic, and perhaps decrease it in size, so that all of it shows in the Graphics control
  • Make the size of the design area in the Graphics Editor the same size as the Graphics control
  • Add to the Graphics Editor the right and bottom bounds of the control, showing them as thick dashed lines. It would then be the responsibility of the user either to keep within the bounded design area or, when he leaves GE, to change the size of the control to fit the graphics.

BTW when the Graphic Editor opens, it is too low on the screen for the status bar to show. I always have to move it up to see the whole of the window.

Hm, now Koda change size of Graphic control to make it's content fully visible in designer (this make it fit when you click OK in the Graphics Editor).

Probably this is incorrect too, since when object is really far, control resizing can go beyond the form bounds.

Have Koda reposition the graphic, and perhaps decrease it in size, so that all of it shows in the Graphics control

Don't think it's right way. Koda should give the full freedom to place objects where user want, and not change it's automatically.

Or you mean decrease only "image" of content?

Make the size of the design area in the Graphics Editor the same size as the Graphics control

Design area is "virtual", so this don't work.

Add to the Graphics Editor the right and bottom bounds of the control, showing them as thick dashed lines. It would then be the responsibility of the user either to keep within the bounded design area or, when he leaves GE, to change the size of the control to fit the graphics.

This idea is looks better. I'll think about. But in this case autofit should be disabled definitely.

BTW when the Graphic Editor opens, it is too low on the screen for the status bar to show. I always have to move it up to see the whole of the window.

This is not right, I forget "poDesigned". Changed position to desktop center.

Yes, that is what I meant, but I did not write it!

I would prefer to see drawing "as is", in it's real scale.

Finally, I like the idea to have control bounds indication in the graphic designer, just need to try to implement this.
