Either MenuItem | RadioItem is not working or I don’t understand it. .kxf file, attached, generated:

Further testing suggests that one of the RadioItems must also have Checked set to True

Setting this property only set items to one switching group. Controlling it's visual appearance is fully on the programmer side.
