FS#201 - Options | Options | Windows: which windows?

Are the Windows here all the windows in Koda, i.e. Object Treeview, Object Inspector, Form List, and forms?

I have not figured out what the following checkboxes really do:

  • Keep standard layout
  • Snap wimdows (to the grid?)
  • Choices in Size and position saving (especially the difference between Don’t save abd Manually)

I have looked at the doc as I received it. It doesn’t help.

BTW the screen shot here is obsolete: we need a new one. Please supply.

BTW “Always full expand” should be “Always fully expand”

Yes, all Koda's windows except the forms being designed. About checkboxes - yeah, not the best (and obvious) part.

If both checkboxes unchecked, you can freely move windows.

When checked Keep standard layout - other checkbox meaningless, Koda will always keep it's default layout.

When checked Snap wimdows - windows will have "magnetic" effect.

Probably, to have things clearer, Koda should disable Snap wimdows checkbox when forcing standard layout enabled.

Size and position saving - saving windows sizes and positions on Koda exit.

Don't save - Koda never save it's position/size, "Remember position" in Options menu disabled.

Automatic - it's obvious.

Manual - you should click "Remember position" in Options menu to save position.

What the screenshot?

BTW “Always full expand” should be “Always fully expand”

Ok.

It seems to me that the Windows controls belong to two sub-groups:

  • Affect current Koda session: Keep standard layout, Snap windows
  • Remember from this session to the next session: Size and position saving

Am I correct?

If I am,Keep standard layout should be Standard layout.

Please see Options | Designer in the doc. Are my explanations correct?

Other options

I suggest that Reflect form styles changes in designtime should be Reflect form style changes at design time.

Perhaps Snap windows should be Snap windows to grid.

I suggest that Size and position saving be Save size and position.

Reflect form styles changes in designtime seems to have no effect – or don't understand what it does. With it checked and unchecked, I tried checking BS_RIGHTBUTTON for a Radio and checked WS_MAXIMIZEBOX for a Form. The visual results were the same whether Reflect form styles changes in designtime was checked or unchecked.

I suggest that "By default use Caption instead of Name" be changed to "By default show Caption instead of Name".

Yes.

I now see why Remember position is enabled in Manually, but I don't see why it is enabled in Automatically.

Not all, I fixed some.

No. What the grid? Windows snaps one to another.

Done.

This is applicable to Form only. And some changes will not visible, until checkbox "Don't reflect unsafe styles..." is set.

I now see why Remember position is enabled in Manually, but I don't see why it is enabled in Automatically.

I think this is not big deal.
